Ana Mildred Muñoz Hernández founded Grupo Santa María in 2017, and has spent recent years empowering women in the production of specialty organic coffee. Raised on a small coffee farm, she developed a love for coffee from a young age, helping with harvesting and drying. Today, she is the head (along with her husband Oscar Daza Bautista) of Hacienda Cafetera Santa María, a collective venture by a group of women dedicated to producing organic shade-grown coffee across 11 farms in Aratoca and Curití.

“I am deeply proud of the social development and impact we have achieved in the region, particularly in supporting single mothers and heads of households,” says Muñoz. “Our commitment to these women has been crucial in strengthening the community and providing opportunities to improve their quality of life.”
