About this Espresso
Linea’s A4 is a love note to Northern Italy’s vibrant cafe culture and its classic espresso. The Autostrada A4 or Autostrada Serenissima is an Italian motorway connecting Turin, Trieste, Milan and Venice, crossing the region’s scenic Po Valley. We think you’ll find this beautiful espresso blend as vibrant as the Italian landscape!
Linea’s signature Northern Italian roast has been crafted to yield an elegantly sweet, full-bodied, and low acid espresso. A4 has been designed to deliver luscious syrupy crema, and pairs beautifully with steamed milk in caffe lattes, cappuccinos, cortados, and caffe macchiatos, with a lingering caramel-noted finish.
We find A4 lovely when prepared as a Chemex, Hario or Kalita pour-over, and with other filter brewing methods. A4 is also wonderful when brewed as a French press or Moka Pot!

- Temperature: 199.7-200.1°F (93.2-93.4°C)
- Dose: 19 grams (double basket)
- Going ristretto style is important. Not super ristretto – but very ristretto compared to current norms.
- Shot duration: 24 seconds
- Yield: 24-25 grams

Wow & Yum!
I've been a fan of Linea for years, but only buy from them a few times a year. I wait until there's something I need to celebrate, or when I've earned that morning treat/gift, or maybe for my birthday! It's the kind of coffee I don't want every day because It's so hard to find anything better!!
The A4 felt so Italian, but really refined so the tasting notes were precise like some mad scientist is working over there making sure our expresso experience is the best!
Let it rest at home for a week or so after receiving it. It really opens up around day 9. It's one of my favorites! I also used it to make my home made espresso liquor for upcoming holiday gifts!
